Aim
The objective was to connect the interior space with the surrounding environment. For this reason, full-height windows and open-plan lounging were chosen.
Principle living areas and owner’s cabin are stern-facing for a cohesive blend of interest and drama in the view of outdoor recreational spaces and the sea. This stern focal point has the added benefit of shelter from weather at anchor and underway. The vessel submitted is a catamaran motoryacht, LOA of 52m and beam of 21m for an area of 1092m².
Accommodation
One owner’s cabin, three guest double cabins, one children’s twin cabin, one child’s double cabin. The design plans a crew compliment of 10. Crew have been allocated recreational areas including an Internet room. To aid service, the upper deck has a serving pantry supported by a dumbwaiter that accesses all three passenger decks. Crew-only access ways throughout allow crew to move between the three decks with ease. Numerous stores have been located throughout the yacht.
The yacht has a variety of areas of differing interest:
The lower deck houses 2 beach clubs, wake-boarding boat, 3 jet skis, scuba facilities & sunning areas.
The main deck has a main saloon, indoor and outdoor dining as well as a sunken playpen/dance floor, cinema, pool area, internal and external sun lounges. The vessel’s 7m tender and an Audi Q7 4wd are situated forward. The Audi drives off the vessel via an automated bow ramp.
The upper deck has an owner’s lounge, additional saloon and a console games room, conveniently located near the children's twin cabin. More lounges are located on the aft deck. Also, two more sun lounges that provide an amphitheater-like view overlooking the pool.
Bridge deck
Apart from the bridge, the space is dedicated to the owner. 100m2 of cabin space and a generous 67m2 of private deck space. The owner will enjoy 180-degree vista from the master cabin.
Exterior guest areas
All exterior guest areas are aft facing, the focal point being the elevated pool area. The immense deck space can be only appreciated in the visualizations within this document. Each deck features retractable shades as well as portable shades to fulfill client requirements. Water sports activities have been outlined above.
Environmentally friendly design
An all-aluminum vessel minimizes weight thereby reducing engine requirements dramatically. Large brows throughout superstructure minimize glasshouse warming for energy savings in the HVAC systems. Thanks to wider hull separation coupled with a hydrodynamic hull, the vessel needs less power and thus produces lower carbon emissions. The added benefit of this catamaran is a shallower draft that allows the owner to explore areas an equivalent single-hull 8Om yacht could not, thus not interfering with the vessels operation but enhancing it.
LED lighting & a RINA green star design signify a concerted effort towards responsible yachting.
